African Heritage Month Fact:

In 1993, the first black female Member of Parliament was elected - The Honourable Jean Augustine from Grenada. She also became the first black female cabinet minister. Jean encouraged the government to officially recognize February as Black History Month in Canada.

Yearbook:

There will be a yearbook meeting today at lunch. Please eat lunch as quickly as possible and meet in the computer lab once you have finished eating.
Girl’s Basketball:

On Thursday, Brookside Junior High will be hosting the girl’s basketball Regional qualifier game starting at 3:30.
African Heritage Month Readers’ Theatre

Students participating in the African Heritage Month Readers’ Theatre will have a practice today from 10-11 in the resource room.  Please check in with your teachers for attendance, and attend only with teacher permission.

Grade 7 Immersion
