African Heritage Month Fact:

The Right Honourable Michaëlle Jean was Canada’s first black Governor General. Michaëlle came to Canada as a refugee from Haiti. She worked as a journalist and filmmaker before being appointed as the Queen o f England’s representative in Canada.
