This month is African Heritage Month
According to the 2016 census, there are 1.2 million black people in Canada - or 3.5 percent of all Canadians.  The cities with a large population of black people are Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Vancouver, Edmonton, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Halifax, and Oshawa.

African Heritage Month Readers’ Theatre
Students participating in the African Heritage Month Readers’ Theatre will have a practice today from 9-10 in the resource room.  Please check in with your teachers for attendance, and attend only with teacher permission.

50/50 Tickets

A reminder to grade 9 students that are still selling 50/50 tickets.  This is the last week to sell tickets.  This Friday is the last draw.

Pancake Day

Today is Pancake Day in the cafeteria.

There will be a yearbook meeting after school on Thursday. Please meet in the computer lab and have drives arranged for 3:00 pm.

Girl’s Basketball
There will be a girl’s basketball practice today from 2:00-4:00pm.  Please be sure to have drives arranged.  Their next game is on Wednesday, here at Brookside at 4:00pm.  This is the Regional Semifinal.
